I'm Too Busy to Get Old
My body may age, but my mind will stay young; I've much left to do, many songs to be sung. Many roads to be traveled, much love to express; Many souls that need aid, who are now in distress. I will do what I can, to help brighten your day; I will spread cheer and love as I pass by your way. The world is my oyster, to have, to hold; Why, I'm really to busy to ever grow old! |

GROESBECK CHURCH OF CHRIST

Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto my self; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14 1-3. | |

Jesus said, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me. John 14:6
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of God. 2 Timothy 2:15

ARE WE SAVED BY FAITH ONLY?
Today the vast majority of the religious world says that they are saved by " faith only". Many good people erroneously think they are saved when they "accept Jesus as their personal saviour" and say the "sinners prayer". But where in the Bible are we told this? It is not there. This may sound good and impressive, but this is false. This a lie of Satan. This is something man has dreamed up. Then two or three weeks later many churches encourage people to be baptized to join that denomination. They say that one does not have to be baptized to be saved because they say you are saved before you are baptized. I cannot think of a more flagrant crime against both God and Man than to teach lost sinners, who want to be saved somethin different than what God says in the Bible.
In this case if they are eventually baptized, their sins are not forgiven and they are not saved because their baptiism was not for this purpose. They still have every sin they have ever committed and are lost because they have believed a lie. As we read in 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12, "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie, that they all might be dammned who believed not the truth". "Faith only" will not save anyone. In James 2:19-24 we read, "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the devils believe and tremble...You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith Only." If all we do is believe, then we are no better than the devils. We must obey what God says to do, when God says to do it, how God says to do it, and for the reason God says to do it.
Jesus says in Mark 16:16, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved." There is nothing hard to understand about this. A person has to have help to misunderstand what the Lord says here. Untill people do what Jesus says what one must do t5o be saved then they are still hopelessly lost. A POWERFUL VERSE An elderly woman had just retuned to her home from an evening church service when she was startled by an intruder. She caught a man in the act of robbing her home of it's valuables and yelled "Stop! Acts 2:38!" The burglar stopped in his tracks. The woman calmly called the police and e xplained what she had done. As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar, "Why did you just stand there?" All the old lady did was to yell a scripture to you." "Scripture?" replied the burglar, "She had an ax and two 38s!.
Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38
HOW TO HAVE A GREAT MARRIAGE Your marriage does not have to be just good: it can be great! What separates good marriages from great ones? Give God His place in your marriage. Remember that Solomon said, "A threefold cord is not quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12). Couples who strive to build a relationship with Christ at it's center enjoy an enormous advantage over those who do not (Psalms 127:1). Remember your vows. Husbands, did you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect your spouse, forsaking all others? Wives, did you promise to love , honor, cherish, and obey your spouse, forsaking all others? Consider Matthew 19:9 and Hebrews 13:4. Express love each day. "Show one another the proof of your love" (2 Corinthians 8:24) Appreciate one another. When you stop to count your blessings, do not forget to count your spouse! Whoso ever findeth a wife findeth a good thing" (Proverbs 18:22). An attitude of ingratitude will eventually manifest itself if selfish and disrespectful behavior toward one another. Treat one another as the most important person in the world. Who on earth is more important to you than your spouse? In terms of your relationships with others, no relationship is more important to maintain and cherish that the one you have with your spouse.
